The company I work for sells a database system targeted for
scientific and engineering use on Cray machines.  This motivates
the following questions:

  o  What (other) database systems or data management packages
     run under Unicos? 
     
  o  How appropriate are they to numerically intensive
     applications? 
     
  o  What do people who have such applications do for data
     management other than hand-coding their own I/O procedures?

I will gladly summarize responses.
