Message-ID: <6888@cs.utexas.edu> Date: 13 Sep 89 18:46:54 GMT Organization: U. Texas CS Dept., Austin, Texas Lines: 22 The company I work for sells a database system targeted for scientific and engineering use on Cray machines. This motivates the following questions: o What (other) database systems or data management packages run under Unicos? o How appropriate are they to numerically intensive applications? o What do people who have such applications do for data management other than hand-coding their own I/O procedures? I will gladly summarize responses. Russell PS: I believe that the general scope of the above questions makes them a fitting post to the net. By omitting company and product name, I hope I have stayed in the right of the net ethic.
