Message-ID: <89Sep12.013320edt.30809@snow.white.toronto.edu> Sender: Organization: Ziebmef home away from home Date: 12 Sep 89 05:34:24 GMT We've got some DS3100s that we're trying to set up. They have local disks, and we'd like them to boot as diskful clients (well, with root on their own local disks, at least), but we don't have any tape drives on them (at the moment, we've brought them up as diskless clients of our 3800). I can them booting remotely with the local rz disk as root and swap, but I can't get them to boot directly from it; they tell me "can't open ultrixboot" and abort. So, does anyone know where the PMAX ultrixboot is hiding, and how to convince the server end of the diskless client stuff to load it off the tape? Thanks acres in advance; I'll post a summary of anything I learn (along with how I persuaded the system to boot with only / local if anyone is interested). -- "I shall clasp my hands together and bow to the corners of the world."
