I think the SunView default font is just about |the right size, not too small or too big/wide. Is there any way to |get an snf file for the default SunView font? Any other suggestions |on choosing comfortible font sizes? Thanks! Help is on the way. I have upwards of 60 new hand-crafted bitmap fonts in sizes from 4x6 to 8x16 which I am contributing to the X consortium. If they are good enough, maybe a few will be included in the base distribution, but I expect the entire set will show up in contrib. I've sent about a dozen samples to Jim Fulton for evaluation and have said he can make them available for others if desired. I don't have direct access to FTP, so I can't just put them all on expo. Also, I'm fighting with the ambiguous and incomplete documentation of the BDF format, so I'm holding the complete set back until I'm more certain that the BDF translation of my native font format is good. Is there any interest in me posting maybe half a dozen fonts directly here? If so, what bitmap sizes are most desired (they are designed for 75dpi)? -- Dale Schumacher umn-cs!bungia!syntel!dal
