[request] Message-ID: <1989Sep16.004330.6621@cs.dal.ca> Date: 16 Sep 89 00:43:30 GMT Organization: Math, Stats & CS, Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS, Canada Lines: 24 Hi. Some of you may recognize me (Dan Kelley) as someone who recently asked the question "should I buy an Xterminal or a workstation". The answer, according to the net, was Xterminal. I ordered one. [To get a copy of my summary of responses to my question, and my thought process in deciding on an Xterminal vs workstation, just email me.] Now, a second set of questions: (1) What software do I need? [for my NCD16 Xterminal tied to a sun4/280)]? (2) Where do I get such software, given that I, like most Canadians and Europians, have no FTP access? (3) Specifically: where can I get xdvi, a tool to view .dvi files made by TeX/LaTeX? (4) Would you, like me, like NCD to put GNUemacs (etc) on their boot tape? Thanks in advance. I'll prepare a summary for posting in a week or so, if anybody expresses interest. -- Dan E.
