Message-ID: <187@bally.Bally.COM> Date: 14 Sep 89 22:06:04 GMT Organization: Bally Systems - Reno, Nevada Lines: 17 we are using a product called '"MultiView" that is a windowing system that allows one to run a number of "applications or utilities while sharing the same screen..." - it's a window program that creates psuedo tty's and allows the user to page thru the windows (and processes, etc. etc. ....) a problem that exists is that an idle emacs session (no keystrokes) hogs the processor and brings the system idle time down to zero. called Mview to ask 'em about it and they didn't know what emacs was, nor anything about FSF or GNU! Any suggestions other than mine of leaving this piece of capitolistic, korn-dog stuff for the "vi" guys? Emacs 18.52.3 on AIX (ibm) 2.2.1 -- john anderson jra@bally.Bally.com Bally Systems, Reno NV
