Some time ago, on the mailing list, someone posted a fix for NEWS so that item
files wouldn't have so much file space allocated to them.  To see how bad it
is, try DIR/SIZ=ALL in a spool directory.

   Anyway, I can't seem to find that message.  Does anyone remember what it
was that needed to be done?  All it entailed was adding one constant to a
QIO call somewhere.

   Help would be appreciated..
