(I suppose this is vaguely electronics...)

Does anyone out there have any more information on what has just happened to
Ferranti ? As far as I can make out from last nights news reports they
seem to have bought a company that it rather less profitable in practice than it
looked on paper - several millions less. There seem to be aallegations of
fraud flying around left-right-and-centre and Ferranti have a large team
of accountants puzzling over it. There is also talk of Ferranti now
being vunerable to takeovers and the British Government thinking about
bailing them out if so to try and stop yet another British defence contractor
passing into overseas ownership.

Anyone out there know anything more ? Anyone on the net work for the company
that they took over ?
