After following many leads, I finally found a source for
high-resolution LCD screens.  Hitachi seems to be the only
company that is working on screens of such resolution at
the current time.  Their address is:

                   300 N Martingale Rd.

                   Schaumburg, IL.
                   60173

The best they currently offer is 640x480.  There is a 1120x780 due
out in late 1990, and data sheets are available now.
