Mussolini announces that the "liquidation" of Poland could allow
for a new peace settlement in Europe.

Sigmund Freud dies in Britain at age 83.

German Jews are forbidden to own radios.

In America, the United Press reports on the French use of pigs along the
Luxembourg border.  Thousands of the animals have been herded into 
German-laid minefields, clearing the mines ahead of the infantry.
