Meeting A meeting to discuss and arrange a strategy for bio-informatics in Europe will be held on 25th October 1989 at Daresbury Laboratory, Daresbury, Warrington WA4 4AD,UK on behalf of the Conseil Europeen des Federations de l'industrie Chimique (CEFIC). There is growing concern that Europe may come to rely too much on USA protein/nucleic acid sequence databases, structure/coordinate databases, libraries of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell lines etc., especially as there is an increasing propensity towards protectionism of data. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss implications for bio- information infrastructure and to help formulate a strategy for safeguarding information for European industrialists and academics. The cost to delegates is 15 pounds (sterling). For further information contact Dr. H. Sherman at SHERMAN@UK.AC.DARESBURY
