Garbage Collection ?? Keywords: garbage collection, storage allocation, multiprocessors Message-ID: <829@ztivax.UUCP> Date: 6 Oct 89 10:50:57 GMT Organization: Siemens AG in Munich, W-Germany Lines: 23 I'm just finishing my thesis on 'Math. Modelling and Hardware Support of Garbage Collection' and I'd like to include a list of CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES that were not previously published. The areas of interest are: - hardware support of garbage collection, especially for multiprocessor systems (shared memory), 'self-organized heap memories' etc. - research on new algorithm ideas or the suitability of old ideas in new environments such as message passing systems, shared memory multiprocessors etc. I think I have got (almost) all papers published so far (250+, plus patents), but I also heard some rumors about research activities that I couldn't check upon. Therefore this request to the net. If you send me a reference and description, please also state whether you agree to have this information included in a summary posted to the net (comp.arch) or not. This might be a way to find out about and get in touch with other people in this rather narrow field. Thanks for any responses. -- Juergen Heymann, Siemens Munich heymann@ztivax.siemens.com
