I am an avid C programmer on MS-DOS machines using Turbo C, however, I am 
fairly new at programming on a UNIX based operating system.  I am familiar with
curses (great for windowing) but offers little to nothing where input routines
are needed.  Are there any input routines/libraries available or must I write
my own?  What I am basically looking for are routines to limit type of input
and length.
