I don't need a full AppleTalk network capability (other nodes) but need the communications characteristics of AppleTalk that you cannot get using the serial interface. I also don't want to have to buy the AppleTalk boxes. I am thinking there may be a way to make a 9-pin to 9-pin cable which would directly interface the computer and printer together. If no one has done this before I would at least be interested in the signal pinout of the 9 pin connectors so I could try it myself. Murky@cup.portal.com
