Those of you who think that increasing the g protocol packet size is
an automatic win would be well advised to see what happens to the error
counts.

Someone who I trust and can remember his name sent me some
statistics that showed that the g protocol error checking became
quite weak on larger packets. (I'm talking about undetected errors
not the recovery scheme).

I'd make damned sure that the error detection algorithm still worked
reliably on larger packets.
