    For some reason, there is not yet an ACM Special Interest Group
    on object-oriented programming!!  Therefore, I am including below
    the ACM SIG startup advertisement from page 1160 of the current CACM:

        If ACM doesn't have a Special Interest Group (SIG) in your
        area of interest, the SIG Board would like you to start one.
        A SIG can be formed by ACM members who have the desire to
        pursue significant activities in a computing specialty.  ACM
        is eager to respond to the interests of the membership and
        evolution of the computer field.  There are many experienced
        SIG volunteers and headquarters staff people willing to help
        you start a new SIG.
