I ran the dhrystone program on our MIPS 2000 (cc -O3 -s -o dhry dhrystone.c) and it benchmarks at 25000 dhrystones/sec which is pretty quick (rated at 20 Mips) ! I also ran the program on the following (results shown): 386@16MHz 2760/sec Xenix 2.2.1 (about 2 Mips) 386@20MHz 4859/sec Xenix 2.2.1 (about 5 Mips) Dual 68020 2781/sec Sys5.2 (about 2 Mips) VaxStation 2000 1073/sec Ultrix 2.0 (under 1 Mip) Labtam ns32332 1700/sec Sys5.3.0 (about 1 Mip) These results confirm what I had already gleaned from general use. Glenn p.s. I accidently posted this to comp.unix.xenix as well ! Glenn Geers Dept Theoretical Physics The University of Sydney Sydney 2006 Australia glenn@extro.ucc.su.oz
