The only problem with this can come when Minix has a legitimate reason to look at that partition (i.e. DOSREAD, et al) so I just built a small shell-script to create the necessary device and then remove it immediately afterwards. However, there's little you can do if some out-of-control program trashes your partition table. This happened to me when I was trying to optimize FS. Ouch, good thing I believe in _REGULAR_ backups. > > Lyle Cool (lyle@cse.ogc.edu) Hope this helps, (tm) Bob -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- -=- Bob Berry -=- PC-Guru's Inc. ! rwberry@hubcap.clemson.edu -=- -=- We are the science of modern motion. ! 803-654-7623 || 803-656-2635 -=- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
