Message-ID: <456@tuewsd.lso.win.tue.nl> Date: 12 Oct 89 08:14:07 GMT Organization: Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands Lines: 29 Hello, We have two Macs here and one Lisa running MacWorks. I used to have only two machines, the Lisa and the Mac and I used to work with the Lisa as a file server. I didn't have the original AppleTalk box and had a direct link instead. This works if you have two nodes only, I connected the Lisa to the Mac as if it were a normal RC232 link. Now I want to put a third machine in the network, and therefore I got the ApleTalk boxes. The two Macs can communicate over AppleTalk, no problem, but how do I connect a Lisa to the network the official way??? Is there a separate box for the Lisa? If there is, is it an ACTIVE box? The Appletalk signal levels seem to be much to low: The lisa can talk TO appletalk, but it isn't receiving anything FROM the network. (Tried this with ordinary communication software) Can anyone help me here? Ernst. > PS: The account this message is sent from ISN'T mine, I borrowed it because my host-machine is down.
