I vote for ascii text with postscript diagrams (that can't be done in 
ascii) tacked on to the end.  

You have just one version, you can grep through it, you till have nice
diagrams for people who can deal with cutting out and printing postscript.

Might also be nice if there was a us mail address that you could send 
off for paper copies.
