First, the context: my work experience so far has been with a company which had to actually pay time-and-a-half for overtime, which is usually a VERY expensive way to trade cost for schedule. Also, Phil misinterprets my position. The idea is to maximize the use of productivity tools FIRST; simply throwing time at the problem makes little sense UNLESS we have already done all the things that can be done to minimize the difficulty of solving it.
