System: A500 Supra HD I/F Adaptec ACB 4520 SCSI to ESDI bridge card ESDI drive. Symptoms: 1. System won't cold boot from HD. Stick in SupraBoot floppy - it boots, xfers control to the hard drive. Any following warm boots will work from HD, i.e., no need for SupraBoot in df0: 2. R/W errors on my hard drive. They don't go away with a reboot. That is, the same files give r/w errs time after time. So, I need to map out bad blocks. But I can't convince the Supra s/w to let me use the map option. Ideas? Number 1 is not a big deal, but 2 is _killing_ me. If anyone can help, you'll have a friend for life. Oh, yeah - the 4520 is strapped to emulate the Adaptec 4000 - it's the only way i could get it to format at all. When I came up SupraFormat chose Other as my controller type. The drive would format like this, but no map option. If I try to choose 4000 or 4070 as my controller type, format just says "this controller does not support the SCSI Mode command." Thanks for any help. Rick Forrest.
