Since the 86 pin BUSS edge connectors are the same pin-outs on the A1000 and the A500 with the difference being that they are rotated 180 degrees from each other, the A590 should (and has) work on an A1000. We found this to be true with the Palomax hard drive interface, and it uses the same 86 pin edge connector and PCB on either machine, only difference is to rotate the card the requisite 180 degrees.
