Just to be sure I'm not reinventing the wheel:
 
Has anyone modified the ARP programmer's distribution (V.34) to
support newer features in Lattice 5.0?  Specifically does anyone have
an arpc.o that can be made residentable?
 
I was able to get V.34 up and running after a few mishaps and a bug in
Lattice's ASM5.0  (I simply used my asm v4.01 - it didn't have the bug.)
 
One more quick question:  Is there a programmer's guide to V.39 (the
latest ARP)?
