And reasonably, so, Camper, but be relieved. As additional evidence that there is a "New Commodore" at work, it was announced yesterday on BIX that the service centers have been advised of the problems with 6.0 and 6.1 motherboards and instructed to repair or replace them (free, I presume) to 6.2 levels if you are having problems. The delay in doing so has undoubtedly been frustrating for purchasers, and it would sure be nice if these things never happened (but they happened to IBM PS/2-70 I think), and I conjecture that Commodore chose to keep mum about the problem until they had a solution in place, which they have now said they do. So, figure out what a service center is, and give them a call. They are supposed to be up to speed on the details of the plan by now, according to the posting on BIX. I am sure that Microbotics (represented on BIX) has gotten the total lowdown since the announcement and will probably also be advising their customers. I do not know what other peripheral vendors have been affected. jimm -- Jim Mackraz, I and I Computing "... the signs are very ominous, {cbmvax, well, oliveb}!amiga!jimm and a chill wind blows." - Justice Blackmun Opinions are my own.
