Actually, this little PROM isn't necessary at all. The only thing it is used for (apparently) is self-diagnostics at reset time. If you take out your ring card (like I did from my DN3000), the diagnostics will fail because the Domain PROM tells it to look for a ring card. But since this check comes last, the loss is trivial. You can EX AEGIS anyway. According to our service rep., replacement of this PROM is included as part of regular maintenance. I haven't bothered. ...lori
