I've run out of memory. Currently, I have an Apple IIgs memory expansion card with 512k on board (makes 768k total) and I've had no luck finding the elusive 21256 memory chips to fill the other sockets. I've tried 41256's but I suspect there's a difference in CAS before RAS or vice versa. In any case, what I'd like to do is get a board that will be expandable for some time to come and use chips/SIMMS that will be more standard than the 21256's. I am considering an OctoRam, however, I don't know much about them. Also, there's the problem of what I do with the old card. The extractable 256k on there I could possibly sell to someone I know, however, this still leaves me with the card. As I have heard, reselling the card can be quite difficult. Another rumor, is that AE will give you $50 for your old card when you buy one of theirs... Anyways, the amount of memory I'm looking at the present is 1-2 Megs, with the ability to expand to 8 in the future. What cards are out there, how much do they cost, what chips do they use, can you get them with no ram installed so I could take advantage of lower chip prices in the Computer Shopper, and where'd I contact someone about these boards? (Gee, lookit that, a paragraph full of questions...) In advance, thanks for the information... -- [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] [] Jacob S.
