The organization is in very bad shape, they no longer sell anything, only a handful of people attend their general meetings, they have dropped (or shortly will) their 800 number, and they are stuck paying rent on a place that is much too big for their scaled back operations. In fact, they no longer even talk about user group membership in their renewal material, but rather just a "magazine" subscription... Oh yes, I know, they did have a booth at Applefest selling subscriptions, but right while that was going on, they had someone else (a former official) walking the floor looking for potential buyers for the magazine s pthey publish... I would suggest this means hang onto your money until you learn more.... The magazines appear to be their only current source of money and efforts, and that is being done away with.
