I think the DJ manual mentions something about this. I have had my DeskJet for over a year with *no* problems. But I've never even dreamed of using refilled cartridges. Also, I never leave my printer on- I turn it on only when I need it, and off it goes when I'm finished. Less to worry about- like spikes and the like!
