We have a 3b15 running SVR3.1.1. I'm trying to find a way to perform
"get drive status" ioctl's on a 9 track tape drive. The manual page
seems to imply that one may only move the tape around, but looking
at sys/tape_drv.h and sys/tape_ioctl.h lead me to wonder whether there's
something more that they're not telling me.

Oh, no, AT&T wouldn't provide us with a source licence for this beast.
