A friend asked me if I would write him a maintenance/inventory system for
his business.  I have neither the time or inclination to do such a massive
task but I would like to help him by evaluating off the shelf PC software
that might do the job.  To that end I would like to hear from anyone who
can recommend a package(s) to do the following:

1.  Schedule maintenance for a group of machines/vehicles.

2.  Maintain maintenance records for individual machines.  Generate maintenance
    requests/reports by day, week, month etc.

3.  Allocate parts from an inventory system for scheduled maintenance.

4.  Do all normal inventory stuff.  

So essentially I am looking for a maintenance system sitting on top of an 
inventory system.
