Message-ID: <991@kosman.UUCP> Date: 9 Oct 89 18:18:18 GMT Organization: K.O.'s Manor - Vital Computer Systems, Oxnard, CA 93035 Lines: 8 Not too long ago, I got a 286 by mail order. It was advertised as having Phoenix BIOS roms. I didn't pay too much attention at first, but I finally noticed that the message at startup says I actually have Award ROMS. I don't care too much in principle, so long as the things work, but I wonder if there is actually a reason to prefer one over the other? Is there a gotcha waiting to get me later? Are the two interchangeable on a given board (i.e. are they the same type of rom chips)?
