Keywords: There *is* PUBLIC DOMAIN software available... Message-ID: <49249@oliveb.olivetti.com> Date: 13 Oct 89 00:17:33 GMT Sender: news@oliveb.olivetti.com Lines: 24 Hi! Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've gotten a lot of responses to my questions, and thanks to all who've answered. I will post a summary of the answers I've received, and, if anyone is interested, I will post the PUBLIC DOMAIN software that I have received from MINITEL in New York. I will not post this immediately, just in case there are any flames, requests not to do so, etc. But if there are no objections, it will be posted in one or two weeks, (to allow for *any* possible dissenting votes), to comp.binaries.ibm.pc. This software allows you to use your plain old modem to call a local number, (there are lots of numbers to call). You are not charged anything until you actually sign on to a service, when you do, it will be billed to your VISA or other plastic, (roughly $0.16/min for USA services, and anywhere from $0.33 to $1.80/min for French services)... So that's it. But like I said, if there are *any* dissenting votes, I won't post it. -Dave Patterson How to find me: {ucbvax, etc.}!hplabs!oliveb!olivej!davepat Olivetti Advanced Technology Center ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^-put std.disclaimer here... 20300 Stevens Creek Boulevard Cupertino, CA 95014
