If I remember correctly (from a graphics technology course
I took eons ago), a typeface is the look of a set of type,
a typeface family is variations (i.e. bold, italic, etc.)
on a typeface, and a font is a typeface at a particular
size.

No thanks to Apple for confusing the issue with their
menu structure.....
