What's the latest uucp path? From internet? Yeah, I actually succeeded in transfering almost all the files in July. I was going to set up an anonymous ftp location. To my dismay, almost all the files were corrupted, and it was not mail corruptions. The shell archiver that had been used at beowulf didn't like the following: - Binary (object) files had been archived. - DOS files had been archived, without first converting the line-ending CR to an LF. It's not enough just to replace all CR's with LF's since the archiver put an X in the first position of every line. Except with these DOS files, where it has put the X in the middle of lines. (And breaking lines after 511 chars) I converted a couple by hand, but after I noticed that almost all archives were damaged I gave up and contacted "bonesrm". He replied that he should look into it in August and get back to me when the problems had been fixed. I have not heard anything though. If someone can assure me that the archives @ beowulf are now OK, I might try to make them available by ftp again. -- "Don't think; let the machine do it for you!" -- E. C.
