The troff I used was from dec and was not a supported product, the transcript was from adobe. When I tried the ptroff command which uses troff and the translation from C\A\T to postscript, I got the following message: Non-numeric character in font file /usr/local/lib/ps/troff.font/Times/ftR (maybe non-ASCII font file) Can someone who had the similar experience give me some hints of what's going on here? I think these font tables like ftR were generated by the compiling result and therefore were not ASCII file. BTW, I don't know much about the internal structure of Troff and any help would be appreciated.
