I am unfamiliar with LaTeX, but the equation package in Ventura is the same
as UNIX's eqn (i.e., x sup 2 ~+~ 3 over y ~=~ DELTA).  It can be a bit of
work to get everything to line up on some of the more complicated expressions,
but it certainly is flexible (at the cost of ease of use).
