I have been trying to make the SysV R3 shell layer manager 'shl'
go. Running sxtnodes correctly creates the /dev/sxt??? and /dev/stx/???
files, but running shl gives the message

no control channels available (errno=6)

which is no such device or address.

The sxt stuff is in the kernel. It was put in using the line

sxt	0	0	0	8

in the config.cf file.

What, pray tell, have I done wrong?
