Like a revious poster, I'm having trouble with
Emacs under X11.  I'm on a DecStation 3100,
the problem is a strange one; when I hit a 
control-s, it will accept the first or second   
character I type, and find them, but then it
starts ignoring further characters and it
beeps at me!

It's getting confused badly!

Any ideas?

Emacs version is 18.51.9
