Congratulations, Jay, you have hit the nail right on the head.

We were trying to disassociate the two concepts, and in fact the
reverse has happened.  "comp" and "sci" are viewed not as technical
hierarchies, but as high-distribution hierarchies.

It is time for another great renaming, but one quite different from the
first.
