When nobody is playing with him, he just stays on his cage perch & poops onto the newspaper I place below; he never tries to explore the room. When an obliging human calls him over to play, he's on a 15-20min poop schedule; he get's flung into the air to fly back to his cage perch, he's told to "take a poop", and then allowed to fly back to shoulder or knee.
