Yee) Organization: NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA Lines: 13 STATEMENT FROM FLIGHT READINESS REVIEW FOR STS-34 CONDUCTED AT THE KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA., OCT. 2 - 3, 1989 Oct. 3, 1989 - 3 p.m. EDT Shuttle managers today deferred a decision on a launch date for STS-34 pending resolution of an anomaly involving one of the two Inertial Upper Stage (IUS) computers aboard Atlantis. Ear- lier today one of the computers experienced bit errors and analysis is underway to determine the proper course of action. It is projected that a launch date determination can be made by the close of business on Thursday, Oct. 5, or possibly sooner.
