I have XENIX 2.3.1, which has a bug in the video driver fixed in 2.3.2.
The video escape sequence ESC[2i screen dump sequence used in the
screen dump feature (unshifted cursor pad '5' key) was buggy in 2.3.1
and a workaround in the ecuscrdump.c source was:

/* bug in sco video driver leaves "ESC,[,2", so use "l" to unlock tty, a noop */
	fputs("l",stdout);
	fflush(stdout);

If you have 2.3.2, comment these source lines out and you will not
get an extraneous 'l' on the screen after each screen dump sequence.
