I tried to call my sister in Berkeley at 11:40 EDT the night of the quake. AT&T and Sprint had recordings, MCI a fast busy. 10444 (Allnet) got through with no problems. Their transmission still sounds analog noisy, and I don't know anybody who actually uses them as 1+ (around here), and they probably didn't do anything about the quake, but they got through. Amazing how few people know about 10xxx.
