On a Telebit T2500, you would :set s111 to 30 for the 'g' protocol. Yes, this is with UUCP spoofing. The line turns around every 1-5 seconds (not once per UUCP packet). That's an incredible improvement over non-spoofing, but the line still turns aound. There is no evidence of a few carriers being assigned to a reverse channel.
