Likewise it would keep compatibility to say Ptgn (where "n" is the new protocol I would like to see) and if "n" is accepted, then negotiate the block and window size, flow control and character set independently within the protocol. That allows each item to be set optimally without making an alphabet soup of protocols. I don't really expect to see any such thing released from a company that has a vested interest in our long distance calls, though. Les Mikesell
