Keywords: DAT Gigabyte Tape Message-ID: <4705@ncar.ucar.edu> Date: 13 Oct 89 14:48:45 GMT Sender: news@ncar.ucar.edu Reply-To: fredrick@acdpyr.ucar.edu (Tim Fredrick) Followup-To: comp.periphs Distribution: na Organization: Atmospheric Chemistry Division/NCAR, Boulder CO Lines: 10 I am beginning to see some advertisements in the MacIntosh arena for tape drives (8mm helical-scan DAT and other types) that claim to store 1 to 3 Gigabytes of data per tape cartridge. I am considering such a device for a SUN SPARCstation and would be interested in any experiences or recommen- dations. We would mostly be using such a device for backups. If you send email, I'll post a summary here. Thanks. Tim Fredrick (fredrick@ncar.ucar.edu) Box 3000, National Center for Atmospheric Research, Boulder, CO 80307-3000
