With the RFC 987 mapping rules for etc? Thus we will get the globally aggreed RFC 822/X.400 address mapping rule as a very important side-product? I guess this is not a serious comment because then we will have repeated .. in the address like Hugh.Smith@Nothingham_University..Gold_400.GB Is this allowed in RFC 822? I am sure it is not. Sorry.
