For those on NSFNet and tributary networks who may have had trouble reaching the NIC due to the perenially slow and congested nature of the MILNET and ARPANET (what's left of it), not to mention the perenially slow and congested nature of the NIC machine itself, you're welcome to access the shadow RFC collection I keep on flash.bellcore.com (128.96.32.20) under /pub/rfc. I usually add new RFCs to the collection within a day or so of being announced. (Most of the delay is usually in reaching the NIC. It helps that I like to work weird hours.) These files are all compressed, so their names end in ".Z". You'll need the UNIX "uncompress" program to read them, and be sure to pull them over in binary mode. Phil
