The machines that we buy are the West German variety, and I know of no-one with one of these machines that has ever had any problems, perhaps there is a quality problem with the source of the American machines ? I believe that the 1 year waranty in this country is due to tougher consumer protection legislation and to it being standard practise. Peter.
