My group (Developer Technical Support) is in a very new (8-story!) building that suffered only superficial damage, and we'll be back up to speed very quickly, except where we need to consult with folks who are "refugees" of their buildings. Most of Cupertino was without power at least a while, but apparently it was all restored within less than one day. Water, food, and phones have not been a problem in Cupertino, as far as I know. (Safeway did sell out on flashlights and D batteries, but they *were* open on Wednesday, to our amazement.) Not all areas are as well off as Cupertino, of course--I believe much of Santa Cruz and San Francisco is still without power, and they're expecting rain this weekend. By the way, we continue to feel small (?) aftershocks--definitely a couple per day, and perhaps lots more (it's hard to tell if you're just being paranoid, or if there really are lots of small ones). (Tuesday's quake was, no doubt, in celebration of my 6-month anniversary at Apple.) -- --Dave Lyons, Apple Computer, Inc. | DAL Systems AppleLink--Apple Edition: DAVE.LYONS | P.O.
